Milton Ruben Toyota is proud to be presenting a brand new Toyota Sienna to Golden Harvest Food Bank next week. The delivery and kick-off celebration will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 7th at Milton Ruben Toyota, 3514 Washington Road in Augusta, GA. Golden Harvest Food Bank was one of 500 finalists in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program, which has awarded vehicles to 100 nonprofit organizations based on votes from the public. Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good program showcased five, non-profit organizations each day for 100 days on Toyota’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/toyota. Visitors to the page voted once a day for the organization that they believed was most deserving of a new Toyota vehicle. Golden Harvest was one of the five organizations highlighted on day 48 of voting—Saturday, June 25th. Golden Harvest assists feeding the hungry through more than 400 partner agencies & direct service programs. In doing so, its employees travel on a daily basis, visiting its partner agencies and those who participate in Golden Harvest’s feeding programs. With more than 40 full-time employees and five facilities, which cover 30 counties in two states, gas and mileage continue to increase. Golden Harvest will now be better equipped to give back the necessity many take advantage of — food. At the end of the day, Golden Harvest provides hope for the communities it serves by feeding the hungry. Golden Harvest Food Bank’s mission is to end hunger in our 30-county service area in Georgia and South Carolina. The food bank was founded in Augusta, Georgia, in 1982, and now operates from three distribution centers – Augusta, GA and Aiken and Liberty, SC. Golden Harvest is a locally-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides grocery products to the hungry through direct service programs and a network of more than 400 partner agencies. The 2012 Toyota Prius V is an exciting addition to the Prius offerings, as it has more accommodations for hybrid-loving families. With over 50% more cargo room than the 3rd generation Prius, this Prius wagon seats five and has rear seats that slide and recline to better accommodate car seats. Although it has the same gasoline-electric drive system as the Prius hatchback, the heavier V model won't be as fuel-efficient. EPA ratings are 44 mpg city/40 highway, compared with 51 city/48 highway for the regular Prius. Still, that is the best mileage of any crossover, SUV or wagon. Renovations began this week on the Milton Ruben Chevrolet building on Washington Road in Augusta, GA. The remodel will include a modernized interior with new fixtures and furnishings, as well as an expanded and upgraded service drive. Sales, leasing and finance moved into a temporary trailer, located next to the building, and will continue operations until the renovations are completed, sometime in the Spring. In January of 1982, Milton Ruben bought Harrison Gully Chevrolet, located at Walton Way and 12th Street in downtown Augusta. In 1986, Milton Ruben Chevrolet had outgrown their showroom and broke ground at the current location on Washington Road in Martinez, an Augusta suburb.
