GROVETOWN, GA - Milton Ruben Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram presented a $780 check to Bakers Place Elementary as a donation from Chrysler brand’s Drive for the Kids® program this morning.  The fundraising event was held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in conjunction with the school’s Spring Carnival. Pictured: (from left to right) Fourth grade teacher Jennifer Turner, who organized the Drive for the Kids® program with Chrysler, Leeann Fleischauer, Principal of Baker Place Elementary, and David Percival, Sales Manager of Milton Ruben Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. “We were excited to get involved with Drive for the Kids® because it gives us a chance to give back to the community,” said David Percival, Milton Ruben Chrysler Sales Manager.  “We’ve really been making an effort this year to participate more in local events.  Plus, it gave Augusta area parents a chance to test out our minivan.  A lot of them were surprised it has so much power.” Participants earned a $10 contribution to the school on their behalf from the Chrysler brand by taking a brief test drive in a 2014 model Town & Country minivan - highest ranked in loyalty 12 years in a row - as well as a 2014 Chrysler 300, both made available for test drives thanks to Milton Ruben Chrysler. At the conclusion of the 2014 program, the school with the highest number of test drives in each one of the five geographic regions (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Central, and West) will win an additional $5,000, for a total of $25,000 in additional funding from Chrysler through the Drive for the Kids® program. Since 1993, when Chrysler introduced Drive for the Kids®, Chrysler dealers have worked with parents and educators in communities across the nation.  Chrysler has contributed over $5 million directly to local schools for student needs, from playgrounds and field trips, to reading programs and new computers.  Chrysler is proud of this tradition of community involvement. So you’re a savvy couponer, waiting to buy until you can get the best deals. The weekend paper is your treasure chest with its wealth of golden coupons featuring the latest bargains in the CSRA. You pipe up when you see ones that have to do with  automotive services ( I mean car services are expensive, so who wouldn't??). The words free oil change, discount tire rotation, free freon recharge leap out at you. Now you've  hopped in  your vehicle on a quest to your local dealership (like Milton Ruben) to redeem these services. Upon arrival the service advisor sends your car off to get your free or discounted services performed. While your vehicle is in the service bay, the advisor delivers to you a list of problems  wrong with your car. However,  being the savvy couponer, you  decline the service. You just wanted the free stuff, were hoping to save money, or worried that the dealership was trying to take advantage of you. Well friends, that was not a savvy move. Our mechanics check your vehicle to ensure safety and reliability. You can't get skimpy on your car maintenance. Maintenance needs to be preventative. For example, a minor problem like steering shake could mean that your brakes are worn out or that there is a problem with your tires. A tire blowout or a loss of stopping power can be prove to be catastrophic. Better to address the problem when it is minor before it becomes major. We are so excited to announce that we have a brand new member of the Scion FR-S family headed to Milton Ruben Toyota Scion of Augusta. This year at the New York International Auto Show , Toyota unveiled a special release series of  our beloved sports car that will have a production run of only 1500 vehicles. All of them will  have special Yuzu (bright  yellow ) paint , plate that signifies their limited availability, and a  performance appearance package. The changes to the FR-S are not radical but are substantial and declare that this is not your typical FR-S. The special edition's has a lowered suspension, quad exhaust pipes from  TRD (Toyota Racing Development) . To achieve better aerodynamics the vehicle gets a custom rear spoiler, front and rear ground effects, and side fenders. In the cockpit the car acquires a TRD steering wheel and shifter with build number. The pricing has not been revealed yet, but  "rumor has it"  (Big shoutout to Adele!) that the Release Series 1.0 will start at less than $30,000, including destination. We forecast  this will be the hottest car to ever hit our showroom and ultimately the streets of the CSRA! Since 1982, Milton Ruben has a been a fixture in Augusta providing vehicles for people all across the CSRA. Lately we have noticed people call our beautiful city Disgusta.  We think that is far from the truth, from our marvelous historical downtown, to the shores of the Clarks Hill Lake, the gates of the Augusta canal, and the Signal Tower of Fort Gordon. Augusta, Georgia is a marvelous place. Photography and  social media have become wonderful tools that allow millions of people everyday to share their vision of the world around them. We want to  showcase adventure s in Augusta so that a true representation of our city can be had by people all around the world. Augusta deserves to be highlighted and considered among the marvelous places in the USA, so when we built our Toyota showroom , we commissioned a mural to showcase an Augusta of yesteryear and we also had special #LoveAugusta postcards made for our customer's birthdays so they can share in the experience. Our goal is to have everyone participate in #LoveAugusta. So you are driving and one of these events happen: check engine light flashes,  maintenance reminder lights comes on, steering wheel vibrates, brakes squeal, car vibrates after stop, vehicle starts to get poor gas mileage, or oil light flashes. Here is what these problems could mean: A. Check engine light flashes  - Engine damage or catalyst failure. B. Maintenance reminder light – A reminder it's time for regularly scheduled maintenance. C. Vibrating steering wheel – Bad tire or wheel condition. D. Brakes squeal – Time for brake replacement. E. Car vibrates after stop – Motor mounts loose which could result in axle damage or hose leaks. F. Poor gas mileage- Could be as simple as replacing the air filter. G. Oil light flashes-  Low on oil which could lead to engine failure. #Stranded Do  you: A. Ignore it. It’s probably okay and not a major problem. B. Head to the internet to diagnose it yourself! C. Get the local automotive parts store to pull codes for free. Score! D. Drive to your local dealership for a checkup. E. Kick your car off cliff for insurance payments! If you said anything other than D, you are wasting your time and money. Of course we are supposed to say that, right? But it's the truth. Ignoring your vehicle problems can you leave stranded on the side of the road. The advice you get online might not be accurate, and you may not have the time or interest to fully understand vehicle preventative maintenance. The people at your local automotive part stores are not mechanics and just because your car hits a code, that could just be the symptom not the problem. And, kicking your car off a cliff could land you in jail for fraud…! Always make the choice to go to your local dealership. It  is equipped with factory-certified mechanics who have the knowledge, parts, and tools to deal with a wide scope of vehicle problems. You don’t want to have an “oooh baby ” experience....  You want to have a Drive Baby™ experience! This past week we sent Heather Cortright, one of our top notch phot ographers, on a mission t o tame the rarest creature of them all, our white 2013 SRT Viper GTS, and capture it in its exoti c state. Like a pro she survived and produced some very striking im ages. White and adorned with black gunmetal stripes that signify its aggressiveness,  18 inch Pirelli tires that gives it sure footing, and an AWD track package, the Viper blurs highway lines with an exceptional merger of beauty and exotic performance.  If you are able  to tame the beast and enter its lair, you will discover a world of Laguna leather, red SRT stitching , and chrome befitting the king of all the snakes. [gallery type="rectangular" ids="3061,3060"] But the most important feature about the 2013 SRT Viper GTS, is its bite. Dodge went to great lengths to ensure it will never again meet the endangered species list. The long, athletic body houses a powerful 8.4 liter V-10 engine that produces 640 Venom-Power (horses are too slow of a reference), with its agility controlled by a 6 speed Tremec manual transmission. All this makes it one of the fastest street legal cars in the world with a 0-60 strike in 3 seconds. Formerly Dodge left you on your own in that department, but not with the 2013 reincarnation. For the first time ever it has electronic stability control/ traction control paired with a 4-channel anti-lock brake system (ABS). Plus with the optional track package, it is equipped with 18" and 19 in  sidewinder hyper wheels paired with antilock brakes with 2-piece StopTech rotors. They are clad with P irelli rear performance tires ensuring it fangs will never loose its grip on the road. It is alive and it yearns to be out on the road, slithering, pouncing, and beating the competition.
