Milton Ruben Auto Group consists of over 300 employees, four stores, three lots, seven new makes, countless pre-owned models, over a dozen departments, and a million moving parts.  Family-started, family-owned, family-operated, Georgia-grown, and affectionately Augustan through and through, Milton Ruben is the highest volume dealer in the Augusta-area, with a tenure of Sales Management teams that is uncharacteristically high for the automotive industry. Over the past year and a half, company culture has been a popular topic on our grounds, and we have every intention of repopulating the conversation over and over again until we are as well known for the professionalism and kindness of our employees as we are for the DriveBaby. With employee-focused programs like investing in the continued education of our promising colleagues, and the Lose Baby weight loss initiative, developing the members of our expansive work family is at the top of our priority list.  Because without the best that the Augusta career market has to offer, how can we offer the best to our customers? Augusta's Got Soul (And Country. And Rock.): Music Festivals Take Summer

Few people know just how "on the map" Augusta, GA really is, not just for Ft. Gordon's continuing expansion, but for playing root to celebrities' careers.  Hulk Hogan is a smile/grimace product of our little metropolitan city on the river, with some loving and some hating the taste left in Augusta's mouth.  Of course, he was only born here, and raised in Tampa, FL, so you don't have to claim the renown wrestler as brethren if you choose not to.  Few would argue to claim Laurence Fishborn as Augusta-grown with such glowing and well-rounded performances as in Hannibal, Boyz In Da Hood, CSI, and, of course, the red pill or the blue, the Matrix trilogy.  And of course the musicians we all hold dear, James Brown, Amy Grant, and the members of Lady Antebellum (all the sudden that amphitheater makes a lot of sense, huh?) Maybe it's the rise of these stars that inspire the very root of musical identity so deep into Augusta heritage and culture - we can't be sure.  What we can be certain of is this - it is almost our favorite season, and we Southerner's can't be held in at a time like this.  Summer is the season to celebrate, and that's precisely what we are going to do through the very root of our musical identity. Here's a few ways you can't stop the beat in the CSRA this summer: BLUES, BREWS, & BBQ: A gem of our town, this would mark the seventh year that the Columbia County Ampitheater has played host to this easy, breezy, good time, hosting The Breaking News Band and Funky Bluester on Friday, May 1st, starting at 6:30 p.m.  In addition to the smooth grooves, guests will be able to imbibe in Vineyard Wine Market 's craft beers and SouthBound BBQ's famous meals.  COST: $5, kids under 12 free. MORE INFO. PAPA JOE'S BANJO-B-QUE If it's the combo of southern tunes and pulled pork that fancies your fiddle, check out Papa Joe's Banjo-B-Que in Evans, also known as the BBQ competition of the year, featuring up-and-coming rock and bluegrass bands from all around the region. And it doesn't stop there.  As a premiere opportunity to camp out and veg out, this event goes all out in making the trip worth it, with Pig Racin', a petting zoo, and craft beer to boot.  This year's event will be at the Evans Towne Center on May 22&23.  COST: $35-$65/head. MORE INFO. "A DAY IN THE COUNTRY" MUSIC FESTIVAL A tradition that ranks in at thirty years, this collection of bluegrass and country musicians kicks off with such stars as Parmalee, Mo Pitney, Michael Ray, Pat Cooper and Carey Murdock, before headlining 2011 American Idol champion Scotty McCreery. The benefit concert will open doors at the Augusta Marina at 11am on May 3rd, with music beginning at noon, and food being offered all day, with proceeds of the $35 at the door admission benefitting the Augusta SERTOMA Club.  COST: $23-$35, MORE INFO. THE KINFOLKS SOUL FOOD FESTIVAL You may have to "push it" on the treadmill for a while after this festival featuring the traditional eats of the Deep South, with Award-Winning Chefs Robert Roberts and Amadeus.  You might pick up a few Soul Food cookin' tricks to slip up your sleeve for the next Sunday family dinner while rockin' it out to the music of nationally-proclaimed and recently reunited Salt-N-Pepa.  This just may be an event your tastebuds can't afford to miss at Lady Antebellum Ampitheater on Saturday, May 2nd.  COST: $25-$45, MORE INFO. JOHN FOGERTY OF CREEDENCE CLEARWATER REVIVAL Someone told us long ago that there was a calm before the storm, but we had no idea that this had been coming for some time.  The late 1960's and early 1970's rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival cranked out so many hits in such a short period of time their name alone could stand as a part of the foundation of today's classic rock scene.  There's no way we would have ever thought we'd have the honor of seeing John Fogerty live, but Augusta's Bell Auditorium will be rolling out the Cajun broil for Fogerty at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12.  Be a part of the Revival! COST: $45-95, MORE INFO. We'll keep adding to this list as we come across more music events in Augusta this summer.  Do you know of any musical events coming up we should share?   To continue to learn more about Augusta history and events, follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google.   Some other cool community events to put on your calendar might be Fort Gordon's Springfest, Fort Gordon's Independence Day Festival, or Walden Foundation's Golf Fundraiser. Holiday Drive for the Community: Food and Toy Drives

We all watch the news, right? We're seeing from the Aiken Standard and Augusta Chronicle, from the local networks on Riverwatch Parkway as well - the temperature is dropping, houses are catching fire, and families are struggling.  It's not the kind of news we are happy to hear.  It's heart-breaking to see so many in our community fighting to survive! That's why we decided to double our ante this year for our Holiday Drives.  We want to band together, as a business, as employers, and as an influential part of the CSRA, to join the cause - help eradicate hunger this holiday season, and try to ensure that every child gets to experience the magic and innocence of the Holiday Season.  We have joined Golden Harvest Food bank and the Marine Corps Reserve's Toys For Tots organizations to bring a little cheer to our community members who may not be having such a Happy Holiday, and a little warmth and spirit to our dealership home. Bring in a non-perishable food item and deposit it in our canisters to help serve a meal to those that are hungry.  Choose a toy to give to our boxes for children who would otherwise not get any gifts this year.  Join us, Augusta, Aiken, Fort Gordon, Thomson, Grovetown, Martinez, Evans, Hepzibah, Waynesboro, and all of the CSRA, in a community effort to light up this Holiday Season. The Toys for Tots collection box next to our Toyota Parts Counter in the Toyota Service Lounge Click Here to Learn a Little Bit About Toys For Tots. If you can't make it into any of our showrooms to make a donation, please consider going to their website.  They have a collection of charming greeting cards to send to a person of your choice in thanks of your donation, and can make a lovely gift. Click Here to Learn a Little Bit About Golden Harvest Food Bank. Online donations are accepted, and if you can't make it into our Toyota Service Lounge, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Service Cashiers Desk, or Chevrolet Showroom to contribute a few cans, please consider giving a few dollars through their wonderful website. The Golden Harvest Food Bank Collection Bin next to the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Cashier Counter.   However you choose to participate this year, we are so grateful to be a part of such of a wonderful community! McAvenger: The McDonald's Augusta Co-Op Incentive

Golden arches, value menu, late night snack in college, a clown you thought was funny when you were a kid, but now kind of seems a little on the creepy side - the thoughts that come to mind when you hear " McDonald's."  How about free 2014 Avenger? McDonald's Restaurant store owner Andy Harrelson, of Aiken, SC, visited us last week and selected a sleek, red, brend-spankin-new Avenger to give away to a manager in the Co-Op of Augusta.  At a breakfast hosted in downtown Augusta at the Kroc Center, Mr. Harrelson joined other owners in announcing how each store in the Co-Op performed in reaching their goals over the past year.  Each manager earned tickets for their respective compliments, and the tickets were deposited into a Happy Meal box.  Five tickets were selected for a chance at owning the red beauty in the parking lot outside, as well as a hefty check to distribute as bonuses among their department.  Selected managers reached into the box and pulled out the key to a 2014 Dodge Avenger, and streamed outside to test out which key would be "the one." One by one, each manager tapped the panic button on the key, the crowd tensed in suspense for who would be the new owner... and none triggered a response.  Perplexed, each manager tested out the button again - Finally, Latoria Bussey burst into a shriek and smile as her key triggered the panic alarm in her brand new 2014 Dodge Avenger! Restaurant Manager Latoria Bussey celebrates winning a new 2014 Dodge Avenger as Restaurant Owner Jennifer Bonness rushes to congratulate her. A big congratulations to Ms. Bussey!  That car looks great with you in it! To stay in the loop on other community events, like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter and Instagram! 10 Reasons We're Excited for Fort Gordon's Independence Day Celebration

Between the funnel cakes, great music, and awesome people we met at Fort Gordon's Springfest last April, we couldn't resist another opportunity to support our #LoveAugusta community - so when we heard that Fort Gordon hosts one of the biggest, brightest, and boldest Independence Day bashes in the SouthEast, we practically leapt out of our loafers to be a part of it. And THIS time, it is ALL about our customers, our troops, and the beautiful people of Augusta, GA, and Aiken, SC.  Here's a list of the top ten things we can't wait for this week: 1. Our first ever three-day Freedom Tent Sale on Barton Field: We have set up a huge tent on Barton Field next to the stage - and there's no way you'll miss the stretches of gorgeous vehicles we'll have available for test drives (yes, ALL of them will be available for test drives).  We are even bringing some of our best Pre-Owned stock! We also have top secret, insane, crazy, over-the-top deals and discounts happening out there.  So insane, we're scared to post it in a public venue. (Corporate sponsors, look away!) We have already given away one of our three Yeti Coolers - come to our Tent Sale and be the one to go home with the second! 2. Seeing the Swingin' Medallions: Hitting the stage on Thursday evening at 7pm, the Swingin' Medallions are known as the "Party Band of the South," mastering covers of our favorite classics, as well as bringing their own sound to classic rock originals.  Every performance is a party with the Swingin' Medallions!  (Does this mean we should bring our dancing shoes?) Check them out on Facebook! 3. Getting rid of all of this junk: We have boxes stacked up all over the back nooks and crannies of our offices - and we're ready to get rid of them! Who knows what's inside! Jeep hats, Ram hats, Dodge hats, Mopar blankets, cups, coozies, water bottles, thermoses, backpacks, duffel bags, a Yeti Cooler, and that's all the digging I could do before the paper cuts descended.  It's a little late for spring cleaning - but we're doing it anyway.  Stay up to date with what we're doing with all that junk by liking us on Facebook, following us on Instagram, and on Twitter. This basket stuffed with Ram merchandise is just one of the things we're giving away this week! 4. Seeing you having a blast: One little card up our sleeve for the Carnival on Thursday - an Instagram Scavenger Hunt!  I will be investigating the grounds bright and early Thursday morning to sniff out stuff hidden around the place - and I'll be posting hints to help you find and photograph something happening at the fair.  The contest goes from 3:30 - 5:00, and every correct answer gets a point.  I can't tell you what you'll win yet, but trust me, it's valued at over $150. I've had to hide it from people so it doesn't disappear! I can't show you what's up for whoever wins the Instagram Scavenger Hunt - but I can tell you it's worth a lot more than this. 5. Giving out coupons: It's hard not to be patriotic when so many of our employees are veterans, and so many of our amazing customers come to us from Fort Gordon.  So we've put together a special coupon for anyone with a military ID - and it's hundreds of dollars off.  See the folks at our Tent Sale for more details! 6. Telling everyone about our DriveBaby™ Contest: It's shocking to hear that there aren't more people talking about our DriveBaby™ scholarship! It's so easy to enter, and so simple to win - why wouldn't you want to enter your little one? We are so excited to tell more people about this exciting opportunity - and it's super exciting! (Can you tell we're excited about it?) 7. Funnel Cake: 'Nuff said. (Drools.) 8. Showing off our specialty wrapped and decaled vehicles: The Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram manager David Percival is a huge fan of community events, and he has not failed to bring us some very special products to show off at this one.  You'll have to come see us to find out what I'm talking about, but when we say glory and patriotism, we mean it! 9. Listening to the Signal Corps Band: Because who has more practice knocking the Star Spangled Banner out of the park than a military band?? 10. Fort Gordon's Famous Firework Spectacle: It's infamous.  It's resilient.  It's persistent.  And from what we hear, it's Army Strong.  We can't wait to be in awe of Fort Gordon's once-a-year everything-but-the-kitchen-sink blowout firework spectacular!   After a list of stuff like that, why in the world would you NOT be there?  Drop in, take something off our hands, and enjoy everything Fort Gordon Morale Wellness and Recreation has been hard at work to provide! Happy Birthday, America!! Read more about our Community Involvement here! This post was written by Milton Ruben Social Media Manager Heather Cortright.  Photos and graphics provided by the same.

Introducing #LoveAugusta!

Since 1982, Milton Ruben has a been a fixture in Augusta providing vehicles for people all across the CSRA. Lately we have noticed people call our beautiful city Disgusta.  We think that is far from the truth, from our marvelous historical downtown, to the shores of the Clarks Hill Lake, the gates of the Augusta canal, and the Signal Tower of Fort Gordon. Augusta, Georgia is a marvelous place. So we  decided to launch #LoveAugusta, a campaign to get everyone in the CSRA involved in showcasing our beautiful city. Photography and  social media have become wonderful tools that allow millions of people everyday to share their vision of the world around them. We want to  showcase adventure s in Augusta so that a true representation of our city can be had by people all around the world. Augusta deserves to be highlighted and considered among the marvelous places in the USA, so when we built our Toyota showroom , we commissioned a mural to showcase an Augusta of yesteryear and we also had special #LoveAugusta postcards made for our customer's birthdays so they can share in the experience. Our goal is to have everyone participate in #LoveAugusta. Its simple, just fire up your smartphone, camera, or whatever you've got and  share what you love about Augusta, whether it be food, fun, adventures via Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook! We will have a live feed of #LoveAugusta photos on our website; DriveBaby.com! We look forward to seeing how you #LoveAugusta !!
