Camp Scholarship Winner Announced
Tres Taylor was the winner of the summer camp scholarship raffle held at the 2011 Summer Camp Expo at Augusta Preparatory Day School on April 30th.
The Summer Camp Expo was sponsored by the Augusta Chronicle, Augusta Family Magazine and Milton Ruben Superstore, and showcased dozens of summer camp opportunities in the CSRA.

Toyota wants to salute do-gooders by giving 100 cars over 100 days to nonprofits that could really use a new set of wheels. And voters like you help decide which one gets a new ride every day.
Voting is open daily from 6 a.m. to midnight EST. Every day, the previous day’s winner is announced and a fresh batch of five nonprofits is introduced for your consideration.
Starting May 9 through August 16, it’s the voters’ turn to do their own good deed by voting for their favorite stories and causes. All voters have to do is log into their Facebook profile and use the 100 Cars for Good app to vote for one of that day’s five nonprofit organizations.
Vote once a day because each vote counts and each day brings another new car to another deserving organization!

May is the month to honor our nation’s military. Not only is it National Military Appreciation Month, but our nation’s armed forces captured one of the most wanted men in history – Osama Bin Laden.
Chevrolet is celebrating National Military Appreciation Month by expanding its GM Military Discount to military spouses and retirees, and offering an exclusive “Honor” badge to anyone who buys an eligible Chevrolet through the program.
For each eligible vehicle sold, GM will donate $100 to Cell Phones for Soldiers.

The GM Military Discount program is extended to spouses of Active and Reserve members, as well as retirees, of the U.S. Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, National Guard and Coast Guard. The discount is available on most Chevrolet models with discounts typically ranging between $500 and $4,000 off MSRP.
The Military Appreciation Month program will be completed with 99 ‘Honor and Valor’ Limited Edition 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS vehicles, which will debut during the Indianapolis 500 military personnel parade on May 28. You are invited to join us for a day of learning, information sharing and registering with our featured summer camps and recreational programs. The mission of this Expo is to showcase summer programs in one location for your convenience, to provide a wide variety of options that will educate, entertain and stimulate children during the summer months. There will be food, fun, entertainment, exhibitions and door prizes- one of which is a summer camp scholarship!
Expo attendees will have the opportunity to win a variety of door prizes by completing the Expo Passport provided at entry and visiting and obtaining a “check off” from each Expo Exhibitor.
