Tips from the Bay : Common Vehicle Concerns
So you are driving and one of these events happen: check engine light flashes, maintenance reminder lights comes on, steering wheel vibrates, brakes squeal, car vibrates after stop, vehicle starts to get poor gas mileage, or oil light flashes.
Here is what these problems could mean:
A. Check engine light flashes – Engine damage or catalyst failure.
B. Maintenance reminder light – A reminder it’s time for regularly scheduled maintenance.
C. Vibrating steering wheel – Bad tire or wheel condition.
D. Brakes squeal – Time for brake replacement.
E. Car vibrates after stop – Motor mounts loose which could result in axle damage or hose leaks.
F. Poor gas mileage- Could be as simple as replacing the air filter.
G. Oil light flashes- Low on oil which could lead to engine failure. #Stranded
Do you:
A. Ignore it. It’s probably okay and not a major problem.
B. Head to the internet to diagnose it yourself!
C. Get the local automotive parts store to pull codes for free. Score!
D. Drive to your local dealership for a checkup.
E. Kick your car off cliff for insurance payments!
If you said anything other than D, you are wasting your time and money. Of course we are supposed to say that, right? But it’s the truth. Ignoring your vehicle problems can you leave stranded on the side of the road. The advice you get online might not be accurate, and you may not have the time or interest to fully understand vehicle preventative maintenance. The people at your local automotive part stores are not mechanics and just because your car hits a code, that could just be the symptom not the problem. And, kicking your car off a cliff could land you in jail for fraud…!
Always make the choice to go to your local dealership. It is equipped with factory-certified mechanics who have the knowledge, parts, and tools to deal with a wide scope of vehicle problems. You don’t want to have an “oooh baby ” experience…. You want to have a Drive Baby™ experience!

Meet the Beast: Enter The Viper
This past week we sent Heather Cortright, one of our top notch photographers, on a mission to tame the rarest creature of them all, our white 2013 SRT Viper GTS, and capture it in its exotic state. Like a pro she survived and produced some very striking images.
White and adorned with black gunmetal stripes that signify its aggressiveness, 18 inch Pirelli tires that gives it sure footing, and an AWD track package, the Viper blurs highway lines with an exceptional merger of beauty and exotic performance. If you are able to tame the beast and enter its lair, you will discover a world of Laguna leather, red SRT stitching , and chrome befitting the king of all the snakes.
But the most important feature about the 2013 SRT Viper GTS, is its bite. Dodge went to great lengths to ensure it will never again meet the endangered species list. The long, athletic body houses a powerful 8.4 liter V-10 engine that produces 640 Venom-Power (horses are too slow of a reference), with its agility controlled by a 6 speed Tremec manual transmission. All this makes it one of the fastest street legal cars in the world with a 0-60 strike in 3 seconds.
As the owner of such a wild beast, it’s important to be able to exert your control over it . Formerly Dodge left you on your own in that department, but not with the 2013 reincarnation. For the first time ever it has electronic stability control/ traction control paired with a 4-channel anti-lock brake system (ABS). Plus with the optional track package, it is equipped with 18″ and 19 in sidewinder hyper wheels paired with antilock brakes with 2-piece StopTech rotors. They are clad with Pirelli rear performance tires ensuring it fangs will never loose its grip on the road.

Its Back! Meet the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
When the world first saw the Chevrolet Colorado in 2004, it was to replace the popular S-10 truck. Then in 2012 the Colorado took a hiatus, but it is back, bolder, powerful, and beautiful than ever as witnessed at the 2014 Chicago Auto Show. Though not yet available at Milton Ruben Chevrolet and other dealerships, as soon as Chevrolet gives us the green light to start orders , we will let you know!
The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine or an optional 3.6-liter V-6. Both engines will feature variable valve timing and direct injection. Both will also have a six-speed automatic transmission to transfer the power to the rear wheels. Regardless of engine size, the maximum towing capacity will be about 6,700 pounds. Also a cool aspect of the Colorado A cool aspect of the Colorado is that while it is a mid-size pickup truck, it has elements of a crossover . Chevrolet has not given official numbers for horsepower and torque, but we expect the four-cylinder engine to put out 193 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The V-6 engine should put out 302 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Chevrolet also has a 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel planned for the 2016 models.
If you are interested in the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado, you’ll have a choice of three models: the extended cab or crew cab with a 5-foot bed or the crew cab with a 6-foot bed. Trim levels include the WT, LT and Z71. All three trim levels will be available in two-wheel or four-wheel drive configurations. The Z71 will feature gunmetal trim instead of the chrome on the WT and LT, and will have unique 17-inch wheels and projector headlights.
All models will feature a coil-over front suspension with electric power steering and low-mass aluminum knuckles. All models will also feature four-wheel disc brakes and Duralife brake rotors. The bed features a two-tier loading system – it is designed so that it can be split into upper and lower sections. The bed also features 13 tie-down locations.
The interior will feature cloth seats – or you can choose the optional leather seats. All models will feature a center console, sculpted headliner, a floor-mounted shifter and tons of storage. The Z71 has its own interior trim including contrasting stitching and embossed seatbacks.
Technology will include an 8-inch color touch screen on the LT and Z71; and all models will feature a dedicated area for a smart phone, multiple USB ports, MyLink and OnStar. Certain models and/or trim levels will also feature six airbags, lane departure warning, forward collision alert and a rear vision camera. The Z71 will also feature StabiliTrack, hill start assist, hill descent control and trailer sway control.

Milton Ruben Partners up with 2014 Miss University of Georgia Outstanding Teen for Soles 4 Souls
We are so proud when we hear about youth in the CSRA stepping up and doing noble things. We would like to introduce you to Emma-Kate Few, a sophomore at Aquinas High School who also is a national spokesperson for the charitable organization Soles 4 Soul, and the 2014 Miss University of Georgia Outstanding Teen. Milton Ruber Super Store has partnered up with her to become a local drop off point for the organization’s national shoe drive!
Soles 4 Sole is 501(C) (3) charity based out of Nashville that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and communities across the United States. The charity distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Emma told us since 2005, Soles4Souls has distributed over 19 million pairs of shoes, currently donating one pair every seven seconds!! The shoes have been distributed to people in over 129 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal, Haiti, Japan and the United States!

Hello everyone! My name is Gerry James and I am the new social media voice of Milton Ruben. As a car enthusiast and social media addict, this position been has great for me thus far!
I have only had a week on the job, but it has been such a blast already! Last week I walked into work on Tuesday and the first thing I was told was that two brand new 2014 Corvette Stingrays had just arrived on the lot.
As a Corvette lover and one that recently graduated from a university in Kentucky (the home of the “Vette”), I jumped up from my Mac, quickly grabbed my camera, and headed to the Chevrolet service bay to check out these beautiful machines.
As I walked into the bay, I could not help but shed a tear; never had metal, rubber, and carbon fiber looked so amazing!
Fresh off the truck, ready for inspection!
I met up with our mechanics as they were about to put the Stingrays through a gauntlet which included, an inspection, detail job, and a test drive.
(Note this is something all Milton Ruben vehicles undergo before hitting our showroom floors, we have to make sure they are at their best! )
After they finished the initial inspection and test drive. the cars headed down to our detail shop, and I have to say that once detailers were finished, I feel like our Corvettes could rival any beauty queen!
Look at the wax job on this car, shinier than a freshly minted quarter!!
Finally both reached their temporary throne, the showroom. As they wheeled in, heads turned, people fainted, and everyone had their phones out documenting their arrival.
The thing I have to come to realize about the Corvette, is that is not just a car. The Corvette is an experience, a work of art, and it is Chevrolet’s Sistine Chapel.
