What is Augusta Living Green Day?
The City of Augusta is pleased to announce that March 31, 2012 will be the first “Augusta Living Green Day” for the city, highlighted by events on the Augusta Common. This family friendly event will begin at 8:00 a.m. that morning and will continue until 2:00 p.m. that afternoon, rain or shine.
Augusta Living Green Day will showcase and celebrate the opportunities that we have in Augusta to be good stewards of our environment. Plans for the day include a rain barrel and compost bin sale, recycling, conservation education, sign-ups for various green activities that can benefit our city and much more.
The 2012 Toyota Prius
Milton Ruben Toyota will be showcasing the 3rd generation Prius, where man’s wants and nature’s needs agree. Using the wind, the sun and advanced hybrid technology, Prius is a true full hybrid – one reason for its EPA-estimated combined 50 MPG rating! Be sure to stop by our area at the event to get a closer look.
Rain Barrels and Compost Bins
Orbis Corporation will be on site with their huge truckload sale of Earth Machine Composters and Systern Rain Barrels.
Earth Machine Composters will sell for $47.00.
Systern Rain Barrels will sell for $58.00.
These will be sold one day only for this event from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Recycling, Education, and Awareness
Large containers will be available on site for dropping off tires, batteries, and electronics to be recycled. Save a trip to the landfill and enjoy a day at the Augusta Common.
Augusta Utilities will be on site to demonstrate water conservation techniques.
